In the first post of this series we saw that the resurrection is a necessary fact to what we believe. We then looked at the first three explanations for the empty tomb. We followed them to their logical conclusion and noticed that those three could not possibly be the case because in all instances the religious leaders could have simply produced the body and silenced the resurrection claims.

The resurrection is one of the most important doctrines in the Christian faith. The whole of Christianity hinges on this singular event. For this reason, the resurrection is under much scrutiny. Many false religions attack the resurrection because without it Christianity falls short of anything more than another religion containing interesting stories and good morals.

What if Christ didn’t rise from the dead? Where would that leave us in Christianity? Would there be any reason to our beliefs? The Apostle Paul didn’t seem to think so in 1 Corinthians 15:14.

Today I ran across a video on YouTube that was produced by the LDS Church entitled “Mormons are Christians”. The title grabbed my attention so I watched the video. After watching it, I decided that topic is what I would write about.

Apologetics Without Apology

 

Apologetics is a pretty big word. It sounds like the word “apology”. Right now I want you to erase any idea of relating to each other those two words (apologetics and apology). It has nothing to do with being sorry. The word “apologetic” simply means ” a defense”. Christian Apologetics is simply giving the reason for what we believe and why we believe it. This has nothing to do with an “apology” because we are not “sorry” for what we believe. In this post I am going to explain what Christian Apologetics is and what the Biblical basis for Christian Apologetics is.
